This session will present an overview (with graphics) of hazard banding and control banding with an emphasis on field implementation. Then, using welding as an example, this session will describe a simple control banding strategy to protect workers from the carcinogenic effects of welding fume exposure which occurs daily. Simplifying exposure control is key to increasing H&S adherence.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the session, the participant will be able to:
• Understand and apply hazard banding to products using a SDS.
• Understand and apply control banding to a work task.
• Elevate exposure control measures using the example of welding operations.
