This presentation will educate attendees on: 1) identifying heat as a hazard; 2) the latest information on occupational heat stress; 3) how inaction could negatively affect health, safety, and productivity of workers; 3) why a heat stress management plan matters; 4) prevention strategies; and 5) procedures for exertional heat stroke; 6) emergency action plans and policies.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the session, the participant will be able to:

• Design a comprehensive heat stress management plan.
• Recognize the occupational heat stress threats on health, safety and productivity.
• Identify if heat stress is a hazard in a workplace.
• Implement best practice prevention strategies for heat stress.
• Recognize what tools and resources to use in a heat stress management plan.
• Incorporate best practices to create an emergency action plan.
• Apply the appropriate steps when a worker is having heat stroke.
