Based on serious injury and fatality (SIF) trends, HSE professionals must continue to develop leadership and influence skills. There are no longer hard skills and soft skills, but technical skills and human skills. Both are needed, more than ever. Also, surveys from business executives confirm that employers want strong leadership and communication expertise in their HSE professionals. Understanding key principles and building leadership and communication skills are what make the difference in achieving success in today's competitive marketplace. But how do we do this? Following more than 200 interviews with top HSE and operational leaders, along with years of qualitative research, we've uncovered some answers.
