In the OEHS field, one of the most respected and globally recognized professional credentials is the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) obtained through the Board of Global EHS Credentialing (BGC). Obtaining the CIH requires passing a comprehensive examination in relevant subject matter rubrics after meeting education and work experience requirements. This educational session will cover: 1) perspectives on the CIH application process from BGC; 2) exam preparation; 3) an overview of the requirements needed for the exam; and 4) a Q&A session for attendees. The perspectives will cover self-assessment, application requirements and challenging, choosing a study strategy, and successfully sitting for the exam. The session will benefit students entering the profession, current professionals working to obtain the CIH, and their employers. This session is not intended to provide CIH content review.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the session, the participant will be able to:
• Apply or prepare to apply to sit for the CIH exam.
• Define the study needs for the CIH exam.
• Determine the resources and strategies that will work best for CIH studying.
• Leverage work and dedication to take and pass the CIH exam.
