Description Contributors Joy Erdman, MS, CIH, CSP, FAIHA Ms. Erdman is a private consultant in occupational safety and health, based in Falls Church, Virginia. -- Prior to this, she was the senior civilian (CIH CSP) working in the Pentagon in support of the U.S. Navy's occupational safety & health program. -- Ms. Erdman served on a variety of DoD and Federal Interagency committees and completed the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Program for Senior Executive Fellows. -- She has taught ethics for industrial hygienists seeking certification maintenance for over 10 years. -- In 2012, the American Society of Safety Professionals recognized her as one of 100 women making a difference in safety and in 2020, AIHA recognized her as an AIHA Fellow. -- Ms. Erdman is a former chair of the AIHA Leadership and Management Committee, the past Chair of the AIHA Conference Program Committee, on the AIHA Museum and Cultural Heritage Industry Working Group, and on the Board of Directors with the AIHA Potomac Section. Celia Booth, CIH, CSP Celia Booth is an independent practitioner who provides occupational safety, health, and management consulting to clients upon request. Ms. Booth was previously the vice president of McCaffery and Associates. She worked with a team of former naval and maritime officers who research naval and maritime ship design, construction, maintenance, and repair records in support of asbestos litigation. Ms. Booth served as the company’s lead occupational safety and health researcher and analyst. Ms. Booth has extensive experience in occupational safety and health consulting and litigation management from the corporate risk management perspective. She has over 40 years of experience in comprehensive occupational health and safety consulting and corporate risk management with Fortune 500 clients. Ms. Booth is a retired Captain, U.S. Navy. Her final assignment was the Executive Officer of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, N3/N5 (Operations and Plans) reserve detachment, with qualifications as both Navy Department Duty Officer and Battle Watch Captain in the Navy Operations Center at the Pentagon. Previously, she served for six years with the Naval Safety Center, Norfolk, VA. Tim Paz, CIH Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Tim Paz, CIH has been practicing industrial hygiene for nearly 25 years in various industry sectors such as environmental remediation, aerospace, healthcare, medical research and most recently as a Senior Industrial Hygienist at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Washington, DC. He has served as the President of the St. Louis Local Section of AIHA and Chair of the AIHA Mentoring and Professional Development Committee. While serving on the ABIH Board of Directors from 2013 to 2017, he represented ABIH as the U.S. member of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) National Accreditation Recognition Committee. Tim is also a member of the AIHA Respiratory Protection Committee and the International Society of Respiratory Protection – Americas Section. Mr. Paz is also currently serving as the Vice President of the National Association of Hispanic Federal Executives (NAHFE) and the President Elect of the AIHA Potomac Local Section.
