  • Alex Ornstein, CIH

    Alex Ornstein is an industrial hygienist at United States Army Futures Command. He is a retired US Army Environmental Science Officer with 20 years of documented successes in the Army, creating, managing, and directing public health programs at all levels of the military. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with 30 years of increasing knowledge in working within multidisciplinary industrial hygiene/occupational health, environmental health, and safety teams.

    Alex is a multidiscipline consultant and senior subject matter expert who provides creative and innovative technical and management assistance to federal agencies. He has supported numerous federal agencies with the resolution of complex technical problems, regulatory burdens, gap analysis, strategic plans, risk management, complex regulations, acquisition, executive-level briefings, program audits, and crisis operations support. Alex has expert knowledge and the ability to recognize workplace and environmental factors and stresses associated with multifaceted work operations.

  • David Roskelley, MSPH, CIH, CSP, FAIHA

    Mr. Roskelley has a master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Utah/Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member. Mr. Roskelley is a Board-Certified Safety Professional (CSP) as well as a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). He is currently serving as Past Chair of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) and has previously served on the AIHA Board as a Director. Mr. Roskelley is the founding partner of R&R Environmental, Inc. a comprehensive safety, health, and environmental consulting firm based in Sandy, Utah (United States). Most recently, Mr. Roskelley was recognized for extraordinary contributions to the industrial hygiene profession and awarded the distinguished title of “Fellow” by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

  • Mark Katchen

    Mark Katchen is the Managing Principal for The Phylmar Group, Inc. with expertise in industrial hygiene, toxicology, occupational health, risk communication, professional ethics, and sustainable supply chain practices. He received his B.A. in Psychobiology from UCLA, M.S. in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University, Northridge, and M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Mr. Katchen has more than 35 years of experience in occupational and environmental exposure assessment in a variety of industries.

    His consulting expertise includes helping organizations optimize the EHS/Sustainability function by focusing on mission alignment, resource allocation and utilization, business process improvement, and demonstrating the value of EHS/Sustainability to the organization. He also has extensive litigation support expertise having testified in numerous cases involving a wide variety of chemical and biological agents.

    Mr. Katchen has taught at the University of California, Los Angeles and Irvine campuses. He also serves on the California State University, Northridge Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Advisory Board. He is a past chair of the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s International Affairs Committee, current Scholarship Committee Chair for the Occupational Hygiene Training Association, and is past Chair of the AIHA’s Joint Industrial Hygiene Ethics Education Committee. Mark is also an AIHA Distinguished Fellow and Lecturer who frequently speaks to business and academic groups on environmental risk assessment, management, communication, ethics, and sustainable business practices and is the author of several published technical and business-related articles.

  • Pete Engelbert, DD, CIH, CSP, CHST, CET, CIT, MCI, PCS, SNCS

    With over 33 years of experience, Pete Engelbert holds several safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene certifications, including Certified Industrial Hygienist and others. Pete holds a BS with a concentration in Biology from Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis, and a BS degree in criminalistics (CSI) from Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis, among other degrees and certificates.

    Pete is currently a member of ASSE, AIHA, ASTM, IOSH, APIH, IFIA, SSPC, and NACE. He is the Section Past- President of AIHA Chicago Section, a voting member of the national AIHA Ethics Committee, a voting member of the ANSI Z9 Committee on Ventilation, and Vice-Chair of Z9.4.

    Pete is active in the community and industry through Rotary and several standards committees. Pete is also board certified in coatings and corrosion science and is one of two persons globally board certified in both ESH and corrosion.

    Pete is the principle of Job Safety Associates, LLC providing expert legal services, teaching, consulting, and site ESHQ services primarily to the US Army Corps of Engineers and Naval Facilities Command projects. Pete is also the Quality Manager for Level 3 Coating Inspection, LLC – a QP 5 Certified Inspecting company.
