Course Description:
Uncontrolled use of disinfectants and overexposure can potentially result in an occupational illness, which is why a focus on safe selection of disinfectant and exposure reduction is needed.
In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, we are learning about the indiscriminate use of disinfectants to disinfect SARS-CoV-2 in all types of industries. Healthcare facilities and biopharma industries are also at risk for potential disinfectant exposure.
This webinar will share lessons learned on the disinfectant selection and exposure reduction from statistical analysis of 2000+ disinfectant exposure monitoring data points, including disinfectants of choice, work practices contributing to exposures (spray vs. wipe), the impact of room ventilation, and recommendations on the safe use of disinfectants and respiratory protection.
You will also receive guidance on the most effective disinfectants for SARS-CoV-2, UV disinfection, and COVID-19 surface testing.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the selection of safe disinfectants which provide disinfectant efficacy and protect the health of disinfectant users
- Analyze the exposure profile of most used disinfectants which aids in the selection of disinfectants and exposure controls
- Identify safe disinfection application techniques e.g., spray vs. wipe
