Recorded at Virtual AIHce EXP 2020
Over two million workers enter permit confined spaces annually. Virtually every facility or construction site has confined space entry applications. It is essential that we review OSHA standards to ensure we fully understand them and share best practices. EHS managers will want to hear a unique perspective on CSE and learn more the details and discuss examples of accidents and how they could have been prevented. In addition to these safety discussions, IHs will learn more about gas detection and key characteristics of gas detection equipment to ensure proper use, accuracy, and longevity of the equipment. We will also review respiratory protection with hands-on demonstrations, discussing the differences between respiratory protection for on-going work applications versus for escape.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of OSHA 1910.146 Confined Space Entry.
- Discuss best practices for ensuring life safety during CSE including PSM and RMP plans.
- Demonstrate an understanding of PPE.
