Each year, OSHA conducts thousands of industrial hygiene evaluations throughout the country. Our industrial hygienists evaluate exposures to chemicals, biological agents, muscular skeletal disorders, confined space hazards and other health related hazards in workplaces. We also identify new and emerging health hazards due to changes in technology or the introduction of new products and processes. This session is designed to highlight three OSHA investigations that are outside the norm, or of particular interest. We will review the findings of some of OSHA's most interesting health enforcement cases, serving to enlighten all regarding industrial hygiene practice in American workplaces: 1) Investigating the Mysterious Cough in Chemical Resistant Countertop Manufacturing. 2) Employee Exposures to 1-Bromopropane from Degreasing Operation in Adjoining Business. 3) Legionella Outbreak at a Foundry.
