Recorded at AIHce EXP 2019
There has been significant activity in the last five years with respect to U.S. regulations and guidance related to water management programs for the control of Legionella and other waterborne pathogens in building water systems. While efforts by AIHA and industrial hygiene community have been made in recent years to improve the available guidance on Legionella risk assessment, public and private properties in the U.S. have been slow to implement prevention programs. Many facilities operators and owners that are the focus of these regulations and guidance documents are uncertain about what constitutes compliance and how to begin developing and implementing a water management program. Each education session will include three presentations followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session. Part 1 presenters will provide three different perspectives on implementing a water management program at a facility involving supplemental water disinfection and related chemistry, particulate and microbial filtration, and general industrial hygiene.
